GENERAL INFORMATIONS
The Etna Extreme is a running event on the roads of the Etna Park
Distance 100 km; D +/- 2,450 m.
The routes are almost entirely on asphalt.
For safety reason can never leave the course. The competitor who leaves the marked roads is no longer under the responsibility of the Organization. The kilometers are marked about every 5 km.
The race will take place in any weather condition that does not put the safety of the participants at serious risk.
The timetable program may undergo, based on contingent situations, variations that will be communicated during the briefing.
Competitors are obliged to provide eventual assistance to participants in difficulty.
The race-bib must be worn on the chest or stomach and be permanently and completely visible throughout the totality of the race. It must therefore be placed over all clothing and in no case fixed on the bag or on one leg. The sponsors must not be modified or hidden.
It is forbidden to be accompanied on the course by a person who is not properly registered.
It is forbidden to receive food or liquids outside the refreshment points.
The use of headphones for listening to i-pods or similar devices is not permitted for safety reasons.
Most of the route will not be closed to vehicular traffic, competitors are required to comply with the highway code.
In case of abandonment of the race along the route, the competitor is obliged to communicate abandonment by registering as retired at the nearest checkpoint; the organization will take him from the checkpoint to the arrival.
Every competitor expressly foregoes the right for any images during the event, just as they renounce any right of appeal to the organisers and their partners for the use of their image. Only the organisation can transfer this right for images to any media.

REGISTRATION FEES
- from 16 the first 10 registrations: € 40,00;
- until 28 February 2023: € 55,00
- from 1 March to 31 May 2023: € 60,00
- from 1 June to 31 June 2023: € 65,00
- from 1 July 2023 to 31 July 2023: € 70,00
- from 1 to 20 August 2023: € 75,00
- from 21 to 27 August 2023: € 85,00
- 2 September 2023: € 100,00
The free race package is guaranteed only to those who register by August 21st.
TERMS OF PAYMENTS
- Bank transfer: on IBAN n. IT30L0306909606100000156666, BIC n. BCITITMX, to A.S.D. ECOTRAILSICILIA. Make the transfer before starting to fill in the online registration form.
- Credit Card: you will pay after completing the online registration form.
REFUND OPTION
Adding € 5.00 to the registration fee, you can:
- obtain a refund of 75% of the registration fee if you renounce partecipation by 20 August;
- obtain a refund of 50% of the registration fee if you renounce partecipation after 20 August;
- transfer the registration fee to another athlete if you do so by 20 August.
Without the Refund Option, the entry fee is not refundable or transferable to other athletes or the following year.
CANCELLATION
In case of cancellation of the race due to force majeure, up to 12 days before the race, the Organization will reimburse the 50% of the registration fee paid.
In case of cancellation of the race due to force majeure, less then 12 days before the race, no refund will be due to the participants.
In case of interruption or cancellation of the race due to weather conditions, or for any other reason independent of the Organization, no refund will be due to the participants.
SAFETY AND CONTROL
On the way there will be employees of the organization in constant contact with the base. Ambulances with paramedics will be stationed at different points along the route, as well as at departure and arrival. Along the route control points will be set up, where the organization’s staff will monitor the passage of the athletes.
RESPECT FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
The race takes place partly within natural parks and total protection ecosystems. Competitors must keep a respectful nature behavior. It is forbidden to disperse waste, collect plants and flowers, remove rocks, harass wildlife. Anyone who is surprised to break the rules of behavior in the Park, besides incurring the sanctions of the race, will incur in the eventual sanctions foreseen by the regulations of the Park.
Along the entire route, near each refreshment point, waste baskets will be allocated where the competitors have the obligation to throw away the used glasses and any other waste.
WEATHER CONDITIONS
The organization also reserves the right to suspend or cancel the race in the event that weather conditions put the safety of the participants, volunteers or rescuers at risk.

The check of the obligatory equipment will be carried out when the bib number is withdrawn. The race number will not be given to those who do not show all the obligatory equipment to the attendants.
MAXIMUM TIME
20 hours. Services along the route will be available until 8,00 pm of September 6th for those who will pass at the gates in time. There is a “broom service” that will follow the track following the last competitor, so as to help the retired and prevent any injured persons from being left without assistance.

To protect the health of the participants, the medical staff present at the control points or along the route is authorized to stop the competitor who will not be judged suitable for the continuation of the race. In this case the competitor must follow the instructions of the medical personnel, under penalty of immediate disqualification.
ABANDONEMENTS
Except in the case of injury, a runner must not abandon outside of a check point. They must inform the person responsible for the post,
The competitors who arrive at the gates after the time barriers, the injured, those who will be judged by the medical staff not suitable to continue the race, and the other athletes who want to retire voluntarily, will have to do so at the nearest refreshment point. From there, they will be accompanied on arrival by a shuttle service. For logistical reasons, the competitors withdrawn could have to wait for some time before being returned to the arrival area. Each competitor who withdraws from the race outside the pre-established points, will have to provide for the return to the finish area on his own account, immediately communicating his withdrawal.
REFRESHMENTS
Refreshments are provided approximately every 5 km.
Only competitors with visible bib numbers have access to the refreshment points.
The food and drinks of the refreshment must be consumed on the spot; it is forbidden to drink directly from the bottles of the refreshments; the waste must be thrown in the appropriate containers.
PRIZES
Prizes will be awarded to the first 3 men and the first 3 women in the general classification and to the first 3 in the category.
Medal for all finishers.
There are no cash prizes.
COMPLAINTS
Any complaints must be submitted in writing to the organizing secretariat of the circuit within 30 minutes from posting the ranking in the finish area, paying a deposit of € 20.00 that will come returned only if the claim is accepted.
IMAGE RIGHTS
By registering, the competitors authorize the organization to use, without territorial limits or time limits, still and moving images that portray them on the occasion of participation in the event.
DECLARATION OF RESPONSIBILITY
The voluntary registration and the consequent participation in the race indicate the full acceptance of this regulation and of any changes made. By registering, the participant exempts the organizers from any liability, both civil and criminal, for damage to persons and/or things caused by or to him/her.
